Day 2 | 77 miles, rain, then hot and humid

The day started out with rain for about 20 miles. Good thing I got a new cycling rain jacket, it came in handy today.

Met Little Miss Iowa on the ride. Nice little girl.  She will compete in a week long pageant for Little Miss USA.

Learned some things about corn today.

Did you know that only less than 1% of Iowa's corn is sweet corn. Most is used for a lot of different products, including plastics.

Also had a couple of great pieces of sweet corn dipped in butter. Check out the crock pot of butter.

Saw Mr Pork Chop as well. He always has a crowd.

In town a lot of signs forcthe churches, scouts, ball teams competing for your hungry stomachs and dollars.

A crater actually hit this town millions of years ago and they are still marketing it. They loved having us there. It's Their first year hosting RAGBRAI. And met the only traffic light in the county.

And bought some food from a local high school athletics program.

Had a couple of homemade ice cream sandwiches today. The ones from the 8U baseball team were very good.

Stay tuned.
